Joe Lovano’s Paramount Quartet

After a series of acclaimed releases on the historic ECM label — with his Trio Tapestry, the Marcin Wasilewski Trio, and in duo with Enrico Rava — saxophonist Joe Lovano now turns to a new chapter. With his latest album Paramount Quartet and an outstanding new band, he returns to Langnau after eight years. This formation brings together four distinctive musical personalities with a strong global awareness, opening up new artistic possibilities for Lovano. Together they create music that is both unconventional and inspiring in its constellation — powerful and extroverted at times, then atmospheric, intimate, and delicate. Lovano’s latest project combines a contemporary outlook with subtle Americana influences, exploring this terrain with freedom, focus, and fire.
