If you think that Jazz is out-dated – Benjamin Knecht, bandleader and composer of the Benjamin Knecht Jazz Orchestra is here to show you otherwise. Under his name, the saxophonist assembled a young group of strikingly talented musicians from all over Switzerland to play his compositions and arrangements.

Inspired by great names from the jazz-scene such as Bob Brookmeyer, Maria Schneider or the Vienna Art Orchestra, yet also influenced by pop music, emerged the program ‘Between The Roots and Me’.

Mostly calm and flowing, with breakouts of high energy and force, his compositions are reminiscent of the dawn, the night and the darkness.

This is a project unlike many others, and that is especially why it attests to such importance.
Far from all prejudice, the Benjamin Knecht Jazz Orchestra creates good Music.
